Kwame Anthony Appiah is hoogleraar filosofie aan de Universiteit van Princeton (VS). Appiah is geboren in Londen en groeide op in Ghana. Spraakmakende boeken zijn: In My Fathers House: Africa in the Philosophy of Culture, Color Conscious: The Political Morality of Race (met Amy Gutmann), Thinking It Through en The Ethics of Identity. Zijn meest recente werk is: Cosmopolitanism: Ethics in a World of Strangers.
